Aggressive styling, high-speed gearing and the Trio spinning reel's revolutionary Crossover Construction platform. Advancing the Crossover Construction platform is the Trio High-Speed.  Featuring a blazing fast 6.2:1 gear ratio and picking up as much as 11-inches more line per turn of the handle than standard speed Trio reels, the high-speed version shines in applications where speed is an advantage. This might be float fishing a reel for steelhead where long drifts need to be picked up fast, or drop-shotting bass where time in the water is more time for a fish to fall off.  Anywhere speed is your friend, Trio High-Speed is your reel. Trio Spinning Reels Feature:
  • Multi-disc, Japanese-oiled felt drag washers
  • DFD: Dual Force Drag system
  • 9BB + 1RB stainless steel bearings
  • Quick-set anti-reverse roller bearing
  • Precision machine cut brass pinion gear
  • CRC: Corrosion Resistant Coating process
  • HDGII: Corrosion resistant, High density gearing
  • Crossover aluminum and graphite hybrid body design

Quality Reel

I have no complaints about the reel, I've put many an hour and large saltwater trophies in the kayak with this reel and many other Okuma reels. As far as the "poorly placed bail screw" that another purchaser mentioned, I am unaware of this issue, but I handle my reels correctly and flip the bail by hand, and not by reeling the handle until the bail closes, which is the only way I could see having an issue with anything.
Pros
  • All good here.
Cons
  • Make sure to clean your reels with clean water after fishing, especially in saltwater, as I have found that with Okuma reels, the paint used on the polymer parts doesn't handle saltwater well after long periods of use if not thoroughly cleaned.

New favorite reel.

For all the lady anglers out there that want something a little bit girly, that isn't a piece of junk combo, this reel is perfect. It reels in line smooth and has some serious power behind it. I recommend the Trio series to everyone. If you're not into the pink I recommend getting it in the black or picking up the high speed series version. For the price point and toughness of these reels, you really can't go wrong.

Great reel
March 7, 2015
I bought this reel for my 4 year old daughter. She loves the reel because it is pink. I love this reel because it was a very durable and a smooth reel for the price and this reel can grow with my daughter. A great reel all around for kids to adults. Don't be fooled by the price. I think they are too cheap in price for what you are getting. This reel has brought in flounder, snapping blues, croakers and a couple dogfish. Performed flawlessly every time. Mounted on a 5' ugly stick with white 30lb. Power Pro braid.
Pros
  • Durable, smooth casting, great pice
Cons
  • None here!!!

Awesome looking but thats it...

What a great looking reel plain and simple!
Really sharp looking, smooth crank, nice cast until...
a poorly designed bale screw placement causes line to snag on it.
and sadly i bought 4 of them before realizing it...

How do you tell the difference between pink and black models

Hello Richmond. The reels with "LE" at the end of the model number are the pink models. on our site they are the models listed towards the bottom of the list.
