Fast, strong and sensitive

So far so good - this has been my go-to rod when kayak fishing for stripers. Able to impart great action to lures, the rod is sensitive enough to signal bites and strong enough to get them to the boat. Highly recommended.

Okuma SRT Elite
July 2, 2022
Just received my Okuma SRT elite rod, per usual everything was well done by Tackle Direct. Love the rod so far, paired it with a okuma azores blue 4000h reel and it works really well up in New England on stripers. Only have used it for three days and caught several fish from 26" to 33" and the rod handled the fish nicely. Only complaint is the reel seat screw spins in my hand while fighting a fish and I find it annoying. I can't seem to tighten it enough to keep it from spinning a tiny bit. Would recommend though!
Pros
  • Great flex and backbone on larger fish
  • Really lightweight
  • Limited lifetime warranty doesn't hurt
Cons
  • Reel seat screw loosens while fighting a fish (annoying)
