Great improvement in casting distance over my regular saltwater spinning reel.
Nice weight, can cast all day with it.
Can't beat the quality of this reel for the price paid.
Matches well with my 10'6" Okuma RockawaySurf HD rod.

I bought and received one recently. Not sure if the reel is sealed and can withstand occasional exposure to saltwater. Can you please answer so that I can take proper cautions when use it for surf fishing. Thanks.

Hi Lee, According to Okuma Fishing, the Okuma Rockaway Surf Spinning Reel has a sealed drag knob but no other seals inside the reel. You want to rinse your reel down with fresh water after each use and occasionally lubricate any external moving parts that can possibly have water intrusion also including the line roller. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
