Nice power in a travel rod
    June 17, 2019
Bought the Heavy model and paired it with a Fin-Nor Lethal 80 with 6olb Power Pro Maxcuatro. First fish was a 10 lb yelloweye rockfish from about 130 feet, next one a 90lb halibut from the same spot. Rod did great and fish didn't have a chance. Like having both tips but they don't seem too different.
    Pros
    • Price, ability, good looks.
    Cons
    • Hard case would be nice, and hard to take apart of you don't use a little ferrule grease.

A decent rod for the money, no flat spots under strain, the ferrule system is nice. Handles high drag pressures easily.
    Pros
    • Price, feel
    Cons
    • Guides are adequate but not great

2 Questions: 1. Would this rod be suitable with a Daiwa BG5000, fishing 25-30 lb mono or 50lb braid? 2. Does it have interchangeable tip sections? If so, what are the specs for each tip section.

That reel will be suitable with all three line selections and this rod does not have interchangeable tip sections.

This rod does not have interchangeable tips however it will work with that reel for all lines listed.

The Okuma Nomad Travel Rods do however have interchangeable tips

What are the lure weights for this and the 703MH rods?
    1 Answer
I cannot find these exact specs from Okuma or elsewhere, I would guess this rod has a lure rating in the ballpark of 3/4-2oz

I can't decide between the 2 models; M or MH . The reel i want to use is a penn spinfisher V 6500 with 20 pounds of mono. The species im targeting are small mahi mahi, jack crevale, spanish mackerel and bonitas. I would like to have an opinion and recommendation of an expert in your store, wich model would you recomend that i should buy for my real. Thank you very Much.

I would recommend that you get this model: http://www.tackledirect.com/okuma-ntx-s-703mh-nomad-xpress-travel-spinning-boat-rod.html It actually comes with two different tip sections so you can chose between medium and medium heavy whenever you feel like doing so.
