    Great Travel Rod!!
    August 5, 2022
For the price You can't get a better quality rod. The rod is solid and has caught Halibut in Alaska to over 100lbs. using 80 lb. braid. I have had this rod over 5 yrs.. The case fits easily under your plane seat and is easy to carry. The fit and finish of the rod is great with no signs of wear or corrosion. Others have noticed how well this rod looks and works.
    Pros
    • Construction, Great ferrules, Fit and Finish, Price, Outstanding performamce.

I found the fit and finish on this rod to be lacking. The guides were just ok. I expected more.

    Decent Travel Rod

Use this to fish 40-50# when I travel and it works fine, not great but okay for a travel rod and good for the money. The fit and finish are nice except for the ferrules which have a large gap and look crappy, although they seem to work okay. The case is nice but a little large.
    Pros
    • Nice feel, packs nice, inexpensive.
    Cons
    • Ferrules have a large gap that looks crappy.

Hello, What type and size conventional lever drag and/or star drag reel is suitable for this rod? Any other suggestions? Thanks,
    1 Answer
Rosen, I would recommend an Avet MXL lever drag reel. It will have the power to handle anything you throw at it, also has a great amount of line capacity. Lastly it is very light weight and will allow your to use this rod and reel combo all day long.

What is the travel size of this rod when broken down and in case? Also, how many ounces is this rod's lure rating?
    1 Answer
32 inches when broken down, but a case is not included. These rods do not have a rating for how many ounces you can "throw" with them. From what i have seen 2-4 ounces should be no problem and even more if you do more of a lob style cast. For dropping weight straight down you may go much heavier than this.
