Building on the success of Okuma Nomad travel rods, Nomad Inshore Travel rods deliver a concise selection of all-around destination rods with worldwide utility (and a far better experience than fishing a beat up lodge rod). Three-piece design constructed with European spigot ferrule connections offers 1-piece rod performance yet travels easily inside a padded and waterproof case. Each rod includes two tip sections, one lighter and one heavier, to increase versatility while keeping luggage to a minimum. Premium components were chosen for rock-solid dependability with the realization that home may be continents away. As traveling with rod tubes continues to grow in difficulty and expense, Nomad Inshore Travel rods are a great solution and cheap insurance for a quality trip.

My youngest son is off to Kansas State University so I got him a rod he can transport easily. This is a quality rod and he's already caught numerous largemouth bass at the local lake, so it's all broken in for Kansas.

One of the nicest high-quality spinning rods of use. Love the travel capabilities and the case.. Has not come apart during the fight, cast, or riding in the rod holder. Performs as good as a single piece rod.

This rod is excellent for the traveling angler. I recently purchased one for my brother and one for my son. Mine is paired with a size 4000 reel and has caught fish in Aruba, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Florida, Alabama etc etc etc. I have caught bluefish, snook, tarpon, amberjack and many more. It is a solid buy!
Pros
  • Carry case with space to fit a reel
  • Fits in an airplane's overhead storage
  • light
  • Solid reel seat.
  • 2 tips.
Cons
  • None

Nice rod, bit lighter than expected
February 3, 2015
Very nice looking rod, great finish. Nice reel seat. The 3pc is an awesome feature, and with these ferrule connections, it feels close enough to a one-piece. Definitely not worse than a 2pc. So, great for travelling.
The rod M-MH is a bit lighter than I was expecting. Visually, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the 2 tips. Although, there is only a few pounds difference, I was hoping/expecting a bigger difference.
Pros
  • nice finish
  • nice reel seat components
  • 3 pc great
  • good connections
  • sensitive enough tip for lure action
Cons
  • not much difference between 2 tips
  • lighter than expected

The two pics on your site are not the same rod. The cork handle does not appear to be a spinning rod. Can you you send a pic of the actual product?
1 Answer
The ML model is not in stock. The M/MH is in stock and that does have the corp grips that are shown in the main picture. Thank you for considering TackleDirec for your fishing needs.
