The cheaper reels from Okuma can be junky, and the more expensive very good
January 14, 2019
My uncle got two of the cheaper ones on sale for a really good price and WOW did they start to corrode fast! So much so that Okuma actually replaced both reels for nothing when we contacted their customer service and told them it had been only one season. This happened with more than proper maintenance done to the reel. Now, i know guys at my marina that have been fishing everything from stripers to mahi every weekend on some of the more expensive ones and swear they have never had a problem in 5+ years of use. No clicker getting stuck, no corrosion, no slipping in the drag etc.. I would personally go with one of the more expensive models if i were to buy one
