Light and smooth casting

I purchased the 9 ft Genesis rod for an upcoming Florida surf fishing trip. Practice casting with it, I noticed how light it is and how it loads smoothly - not just the tip, but the whole rod. Looking forward to using this rod on the beach.

I have this paired with a Shimano Ultegra 5500. The set-up is lightweight and reliable. You can cast all day with it. I was throwing epoxies all the way up to big magic swimmers. (probably a little too heavy but the rod handled it.) I couldn't recommend this rod enough.

I recently got this amazing rod and it did not disappoint. My first hook up was a 30 inch striper off the surf and this rod made it fun and easy fighting it. I paired it with a Van Staal VR50. Set up is super lite but yet very powerful. I am very very happy I choose ODM rods for my surf fishing adventures.
Pros
  • Very very lite rod and powerful
