GREAT in-shore rod

Excellent action, lightweight, durable and responsive. Paired with a Shimano Sustain 5000 and can jig all day with it. You feel a lot more than I expected for a rod in the price range and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend even to the most discriminant angler. To be completely honest, quality that I did not expect at this price point, excellent bang for your buck rod.

Matched MH with a Penn Battle 4000. This rod works great for everything I've used it for. Casting to bluefish and stripers or jigging fluke and seabass. This rod has not let me down.

These have quickly become my favorite inshore rods. If you've been trying to crack the code on how to comfortably cast big spokes and heavier jigs from a center console, without spending $400, this is it. They look and feel amazing too.

The butt of the rod appears to be a metal disc. Is that the case? Also, how long is the handle section, from the butt to the trigger? Thanks.

Hi Pete, Both the Medium Heavy and Heavy Action Conventional and Acid Wrapped Conventional Ocean Tackle International Pitch Black Inshore Rods have a measurement of 17" inches that is measured from the back of the reel seat to the bottom of the rod butt. All Heavy Action models come with a rubber gimbal and the Medium Heavy Action models come with a rubber butt cap. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Whats the difference between the acid wrapped and non acid wrap. Is there an advantage to the acid wrap? Ate the guides acid wrapped or is the entire rod wrapped?

Hi Sean, An Acid Rod or "Spiral Wrapped Rod" is a conventional or casting rod who's guides start out on top of the blank and then rotate around the rod leaving the final guides and tip under the blank.The guide placement reduces torque allowing you to fight larger fish on lighter tackle with less fatigue.
