these little guys do really well for GT's, until the finish comes off
March 18, 2017
The Blue/Purple one was one of the most productive lures we had on a trip to Christmas Island popping for GT's. It's pretty light for its cup size, which lets you cast with more frequency, and get a big splash.
the only big drawback to this lure is that the finish is garbage. the hooks, the teeth of a fish, it takes almost nothing to puncture the resin, and the sticker beneath flakes off very easily. So its great for the first 20 or so casts, and if you nail a good spot and catch a fish, its good. But as soon as it starts to delaminate, it becomes a white plug that the GT's seemed completely uninterested in.
Pros
  • pretty cheap for a GT popper.
  • the blue/purple are productive.
  • its light for the cup size, so you can throw it without loosing your shoulder.
Cons
  • finish is lousy. once it starts to flake, its crap.
