Ordered this rod a while ago, I was finally able to get out and use it this weekend and wow was I impressed. Fantastic rod, I used it in 225 feet paired with an Accurate Valiant 500N and it is an extremely light, great feeling combination. The rod has plenty of backbone for the Red Snapper and Grouper I caught with it. I highly recommend this rod. Easy to fish with all day and Great components on it at a great price.

Hi Michael, The Ocean Tackle International FB56500S Fathom Blade 500g Spinning Rod can handle a variety of size reels. Depending on what your fishing for, a 14000 - 18000 size reel would be the most ideal pairing for this rod. Specifically I would recommend a Shimano SRG18000SWAHG Saragosa SW A Spinning Reel. https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-srg18000swahg-saragosa-sw-a-spinning-reel.html This would be ideal for both Offshore and Bottom fishing applications.
