Just quality finish and good finish. I plan on using this for peanut bunker imitations on South Shore of Long Island for striped bass and small tuna. Its a good stout hook so I figure there should be no problems.

In regards to slow pitch jigging in general, can a heavier jig such as 500 grams be fished in waters as shallow as 100ft?

Hi Sebastian, A 500gram jig can defiinitely be used in shallow waters if the conditions allow for it. It is best to have a variety of different size jigs to cover multiple conditions that you are faced with on the water for that particular day of fishing. I would recommend to have some smaller sizes such as 40gram up to 200gram which would be more common to use at shallower depths with less current.
