Nomad Design built the Dartwing to be the ultimate surface skipping topwater lure. The Dartwing features a long slender profile with a unique wing shaped head design that makes the lure erratically dart from side to side, effectively mimicking a fleeing or injured baitfish. This lure can be worked on a straight fast retrieve, a classic "walk the dog" style, or with a twitching rod tip action to make the lure bounce across the surface for even more water displacement and side to side action. The Gorilla Through Wire system and HD ABS construction make for a resilient lure that can tangle with the toughest of fish time and time again. Not only is the body strong, but premium strength split rings and BKK hooks allow the Dartwing to be fished straight out of the box with total confidence. Available in an extremely wide variety of sizes and colors, the Dartwing is designed to be effective for an almost infinite amount of species and fishing scenarios.

the action on this lure is great and easy to work. just bounce the tip of the rod fast or slow and the dartwing splashes side to side nice and tight. hooks are really good out of the box as well.
Cons
  • expensive, but rigged for big game fish out of the box

Wrong size
September 28, 2021
I accidentally ordered the wrong size and didn’t feel like returning it. So I use it on my light setup for trout/ white perch/ crappie. And it’s a killer!
Pros
  • BKK HOOKS!

Top water buster

The side to side (dog walk) of this lure is so amazing tuna can even resist the urge to hit it. I suggest using an treble hook in the belly this make its dart more. Bright color is easy to spot and seen getting smack!

I don't like hooks setup
May 6, 2021
It bothers me that when casting it, the front hook almost always ends up stuck in the body of the lure, avoiding hooking the fish when it bites.
Pros
  • Very original design. Can be thrown very far easily.
Cons
  • Hooks setup should be improved.

April 14, 2021

Pros
  • Casts very far, nice hardware, nice action. Can be fished various ways.
Cons
  • Absolutely none.

trolls good at 8 mph
Pros
  • catches fish
Cons
  • needed to add a small split ring to front hook otherwise hook can flip up and hook on narrow part of body split ring adds enough distance where body is wider and wont foul

trolled this at 8 mph in 2 to 3 foot swells at 100 feet back it worked great and caught 5 skipjack tuna we were after dorado and marlin, no luck there and this lure was the only one to get bit. i did not like the skipjack but at least i caught something and had fun. put out a smaller dartwing out and it trolled good also
Pros
  • trolls good and works perfect
Cons
  • had to add a small split ring to front hook to keep hook from wrapping up on body, the hook is the perfect size and shape to do this by adding another split ring hook is moved back just enough where the body is thicker and this wont happen. this is when trolling in rough water and may not be a problem otherwise

Nice finish and good design

Haven't been able to use this just yet, however this looks like another awesome lure from Nomad. Plus the BKK hooks and rings are top of the line and razor sharp right out of the package.

Offshore mahi
March 25, 2020
In the larger sizes this plug is great for mahi on weed lines and floating structure. The profile of the plug gives it a great skipping/walking action. When the Mahi are fired up this plug is my go to down in Cost Rica.
Pros
  • Great Terminal
  • profile
  • Colors
  • action
Cons
  • Wish the tail end was a little heavier to help with casting distance.

Sweet little topwater
March 23, 2020
Great light little topwater for the ultralight inshore fishing. Used this down in Costa Rica for little jacks and snook. Definitely need the ultralight tackle for it because of the size.
Pros
  • Great profile and action.
Cons
  • Ultra light.
