These are excellent assist hooks for slow pitch or some of the smaller vertical jigs. Not sure if the glow beads add any value but may serve as an additional attraction.

Will these hold up on bluefin tuna or are they too light?

Hi Jeremy, The Mustad Slow Pitch Jigging Assist Rig was designed for slow pitch jigs. For Bluefin Tuna I would recommend the Ocean Tackle Raptor Assist Hooks. https://www.tackledirect.com/ocean-tackle-raptor-assist-hooks-glow.html. These are very durable and strong and can withstand large Bluefin Tuna. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Are the 4/0 a good fit for the 400gr & 500gr mustad rip roller slow pitch jig?
1 Answer
Hook size is mostly up to preference when it comes to jigs. Some people like a bigger hook to ensure a strong set. Others prefer the smaller hooks to create a better action on the lure. Though the 4/0 hooks will work well with your jigs.
