Before being tempered the hooks are forged, which in this context means that the hook wire is a bit compressed. By doing this, the strength of the hook is increased by over 30%! Mustad Wide Gap bait hooks are wide enough to hold most bait. Slightly reversed point helps keep bait and fish secure after hooksets. Ringed eye. Gold finish.

I really like the hooks I got but I just wish I had ordered larger hooks, but I will order larger hooks the next time I place an order soon. Great Hooks
Pros
- They are large enough for small live bait for flathead catfish.
Cons
- They would have to be larger than the 2'' size I got and needed to be 2 sizes larger to use live bait.

The general description indicates sizes up 6/0, but the order chart only lists sizes up to 2/0
