Just let me start off, this trolling motor rocks! I started off with trollin' tabs by Lenco and they were nice for maneuvering my boat around but when it came to fishing the shore line with any type of wind you could forget it. I bought the Riptide and I honestly couldn't even imagine fishing without now. I was kind of worried about using a remote control to maneuver the motor but it is extremely smooth and the inputs are quick. I bought the motor with the i-pilot and this system I am so thankful for. If there is a certain track that I fish often I can record that track and the motor will work off GPS satallites to allow me to follow that track as many times as I want without having to touch the remote. Not to mention I can control the speed in tenths of a mile an hour and set it on cruise. I think the greatest feature is the electronic anchor function. I would be fishing some bridge pylings in some very stiff current as the tide was going out and I hit the anchor button and my boat stayed within a 4 ft radius of that spot I set the "anchor." It was great not having to throw out an anchor and line and worry about position. Even with a current the motor had no problems keeping my boat in one spot. Overall, having this motor allows you to forget about time spent controlling a motor and allows you more time to fish. I HIGHLY recommend this trolling motor to anyone who is even remotely thinking about getting one. You will NOT be disappointed.
