Nice features/poor design/recall needed

I bought a new boat in 2018. Ordered the Terrova 80#/60 inch shaft with bluetooth and US2. I love the features. The anchor mode is awesome. The lift assist is a good idea, but the steel band that holds the tension has already broken twice on my motor. There ought to be a recall until they get a new and improved version. When the steel band breaks, it's very sharp and dangerous. I had it replaced and it broke again the last trip out. I decided to remove the band until they come up with a solution. The motor will still stow and deploy without it. The pedal on/off switch will get stuck in the in position quite often and you have to keep a knife handy in order to pop it back out. Motor is strong and I love having the built in transducer.
