My GOTO for grouper trolling

I catch more fish on the bigger plugs (the stretch 30's) than on the smaller ones. and being floating plugs, you can idle the boat when landing a fish without a second line dropping to the bottom and getting hung up. Also i've recovered several that have gotten cut off by mackerel strikes on my leader knots.

Great for trolling ledges for Grouper. Always dragging 1 for the occasional King.
Pros
- Built tough enough for toothy species.
- Good depth at proper speeds.
- Great price for a quality lure this size.
Cons
- Depth does drop off a little at higher speeds (8+ knots). For faster speeds go with a Nomad Designs.

Great Wahoo Bait!

I love the bait and swims true. We raised two wahoos the first time I used it. The hooks need to be heavier so I changed out the treble hooks with Qwner 9/0 Single hooks on heavy swivels and now big fish don't straighten my hooks.

Bought this as an alternate color to complement the Manns Stretch 25+ 01 Menhaden. Like the Menhaden swapped out the split rings and treble hooks for VMC Split Rings and VMC Single Inline Hooks 7/0.
Had to use a smaller split ring than planned. the QC on this lure had the middle ring so embedded only a smaller split would fit.

- QC is a little lacking, the lure rings were set into the body, this reduces the hooks freedom to move and necessitates a smaller than optimal (IMHO) split ring.
