Great for setting drag

I recently bought this scale to set the drag settings on my Makaira tuna reels. I have found that having the drag set properly at 1/3 the line rating drastically reduces the fight time because you are able to put high amounts of pressure on the fish early on and reduce big runs. Fishing here in SOCAL for tuna on cattle boats limits your ability to chase the fish down like you could from a private boat so maximizing the pressure you put on the fish is important. Anybody who wants to preset their drags on their 2 speed reels should get this scale to help them do so. Highly recommended!

Used for setting drags on lever drag reels. Does a great job for this task.

Scale worked well enough for the past 3 trips. Wish the handle and hook were welded, sent the scale flying back at me when the handle side shifted to the gap. Would prefer if the "heavest" pull plastic ring could not completely slide off.

A very good option to help set your drag

I bought this to help set the drag correctly on my lever drag reels. Works as advertised.

This product has a good look and feel. Obviously quality materials used. The only problem I’ve noted is the slider can stick as drag is initially applied. This cause the device and rod to jerk when it pops free.

I use this scale to set the drag on my big game reels and it’s the best one I’ve found.

Scale is solidly built. However, the Tell Tale ring slides too freely on the scale and will not hold a position. I am on my second one. Exchanged the first one for a new one. Both, have the same issue although the second one is not as bad, I can live with it the way it is.

I purchased a reel last year and needed a scale to set the drag. I watched a tutorial on tackle direct website and this is the scale they were using for the demonstration, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. If they trust this product enough to put it in their tutorials, then I will not question the quality of the product

We are fishing eight and 12 pound test Mono, you have to set the drags with a scale to have any success. The Manley scale does a great job. Thanks Bob

I set my drags before each trip, that way I can fully utilize the reel's performance with a given line class. No second guessing if the drag is set too light or heavy.
