The MagicTail Bucktail Tear Drop Lures feature super strong black nickel Mustad hooks. They are small bucktail lures. Made for inshore and shallow water fishing. The shape of the head is perfect for snap jigging which is the deadliest type of jigging for bass and weakfish. These bucktails also feature a strip of flashaboo.

The magic tail bucktail is an excellent lure for striped bass. It cast well, has great action and the stripers can't resist it.

Missing clear coat
February 28, 2019
I have used and purchased magictail bucktails in the past these teardrop ones in sizes 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 oz that I recently ordered are poorly made missing any form of clear coat. Jigs even have paint chipping off out of the package. This is the first time I’ve encountered this issue from this company. Usually jigs were well crafted and had nice sheen to them offering some protection to the paint, I don’t know what’s up with this batch but I’m not happy with the quality. Also ordered some pink ones and the bucktail is more of a brandy wine then the hot pink I’m used to from jigs past.
Pros
  • Nice profile
Cons
  • Poor craftsmanship/ quality control

Prefer the Spro type with the detail

I have had luck with the plain ones like this while fluking in deep water, but have definitely caught more on the Spros with the features on them

Haven't used yet but looks great

Can't comment on how it works yet, but I like the hair density (a little less than a typical bucktail) so it sinks with less lead. The only gripe I have so far is the gel paint in the eyelet of the jig, I didn't have anything on my kayak to get it out when I tried fishing it.

Works!

This tail is really light so it sometimes takes a while to reach the right depth, but it's great with white, pink, or green tails on it.
