Developed by 4-time Bassmaster Classic champion Rick Clunn, the Luck-E-Strike Rick Clunn RC2 Squarebill Crankbait is perfect for combing shallow, obstacle ridden environments in search of big bass. The RC2 Squarebill produces a wide wobble for an exaggerated swimming action and significant water displacement to trigger reaction strikes from active feeders. The wide wobble, in combination with the square lip design, helps the lurecome trough cover easily by deflecting hard off of submerged structure, increasing the chances of drawing that reaction strike. The RC2 is best deployed during the spring and fall when bass are actively feeding in the shallows. Available in a wide variety of colors with, and without an internal rattle, the RC2 presents several options to best suit a variety of water clarities and conditions.

Nice crankbait, the green copper shad is an awesome color. You can run this pretty shallow in cover without issue. Maybe upgrade your hardware and it’s good to go.

Great crankbait for small ponds and lakes!
May 4, 2020
This is by far my favorite lure to use if I am in small ponds or lakes for a large mouth bass. I have also caught small mouth and trout on this lure. I have caught around 500 bass in the last 2 years and more than half of them on this crankbait. If I had to pick one lure to use year round, this lure would be it. It works from early spring to late fall. I always use the crawdad color, series 2.
Pros
  • A tremendous lure that does not dig down to deep. I am able to use this even in shallow ponds that have a lot of algae.
  • Because of this lures size and color combination you will get a ton of hits on it. You will also catch the large swamp donkeys!
  • Pictures shown were all from this year using this crankbait! Tight lines!
Cons
  • This is by far my favorite lure but there are a few cons to it. By no reason should it stop you from trying it.
  • The hooks on this lure are fairly small and you will lose a fish once in a while. You could switch out the hooks for bigger ones but I just run it the way it is.
  • The square bill on this crankbait sometimes seems fragile and will crack or break over time.
  • This crankbait has good action but if you reel it too fast, rather then dig down it sometimes will surface and spin around. As long as you reel at a slow or medium pace that won't happen.
