Struggled to make this unit work
July 7, 2018
I bought the Hook2 unit and did not research it enough. You cannot add mapping to it. Without mapping this unit is worthless unless you are in a pond or have another mapping unit. The sonar does not read well. I have been using Lowrance for 50 years and this is the worst unit that I have owned.

June 24, 2018
I've had unit 3 months. Worked fine at first then started to take 10 minutes for sonar to acquire bottom. Won't work in less than 10 ft water.

I have a question. I had my hook 2 7 triple shot installed by a local marina. My depth finder is not reading the depth in the water. I was wondering if there is a setting on the unit or if something is wrong.

serious features for the price point
April 4, 2018
Purchased the hook2- 7 tripleshot with nav+. Installation was fairly easy with the connectors being small making the wires easy to fish. The unit mount is well made and I purchased the optional cover. The transducer is very large which makes mounting options limited. While on the trailer I scrooled through the various menus and so far it appears to be very simple to operate. The menus are easy to navigate, change screen views and add pages to the home page. The display is super clear something that I didn't have on the unit that I replaced. The mapping feature is awesome and being able to split the screen with up to three (3) displays is something that i'm not used to. It's loaded with features that i'll need to use the manual to master. I can't wait to put it in the water and experiment with it. It appears to be exactly what I wanted!

Nice Display/VERY Large Transducer/No Ext Warranty
April 3, 2018
This is a great unit with superb display & very simple to use. I was a little disappointed in how large the transducer is, but when you see it in action , you will understand why it is so long & skinny. This is what it takes to make the Tripleshot go into action. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with the Extended Warranty option. I didn't read the fine print that you MUST purchase the unit through the Lowrance website to get the extra year of warranty! To me, this is UNFAIR!! I am still buying the Lowrance product, it shouldn't make a difference where you buy the product as long as you have a retail store receipt. I purchased mine through Academy Sports & Outdoors.

Please explain the difference between US inland charts and Nav+ charts.  Is the Nav+ charts the same as the navionics marine chart chipyou can buy separately ?  It should probably be described better with the unit
1 Answer
Sure thing!  The charts that are included are fresh water inland up to 3000 lakes. The NAV + chart (sold separately) is for coastal US and anything saltwater. They can be found here:
