Dual network sonar views allow you to cover more water and mark fish targets more clearly from a network of CHIRP sonar transducers. Watch sonar views from a bow-mounted transducer and the in-hull or transom-mounted transducer at the same time on the same display. Simultaneously view CHIRP Sonar with StructureScan HD or StructureScan 3D to get the best possible view of fish and structure, both below and to the sides of your boat.

Lowrance HDS Carbon Displays have a high performance processor for faster sonar updates and lightning quick redraw speeds. It easily powers Carbon's intuitive user-interface that includes cursor assist, scrolling menus, snap-to setting markers and innovative preview panes with quick-touch slider bars.

Plug-and-play compatibility with Lowrance performance modules, including Broadband Radar, SiriusXM Marine Weather and audio, SonicHub 2 Marine Audio, DSC VHF and Class B AIS, as well as industry-leading technologies, like Mercury VesselView Link, Bluetooth control of Power-Pole shallow water anchors equipped with the C-Monster Control System and the SmartSteer interface, featuring control of the Lowrance Outboard Pilot and MotorGuide Xi5 trolling motor. Integrated wireless connectivity with the Lowrance GoFree App and other onboard devices, allows you to download map purchases for immediate use and software updates in addition to viewing and/or controlling the display wirelessly with supported smartphones and tablets. The Network Analyzer detects devices with out-of-date software, and the Service Assistant allows users to send a detailed report of networked devices to Navico Service for fast resolution of technical and software issues.

Hmnnn.....not so happy with reliability
June 26, 2018
I have had the unit for approximately 8 months. Yes it was easy to set up and easy to use. However, it has not worked properly since purchase. Thought it was transducer set-up, but Lowrance confirmed ok set-up when I got tech support. Actually they have been really good. However, the machine progressively gets fuzzy. Turn off and on and is OK for a few minutes. However have never managed to get it to hold bottom above about 13 knots. Finally sent it in for service, but had to pay postage after having to pull out of install....major pain.
I would urge caution on reliability on this product.

The carbon is an awesome unit
May 16, 2018
I upgraded from my gen 3 unit yo the carbon as I fish on a center console and the screen clarity was a feature I liked. Knowing that all of the other components were the same and it was a simple bait and switch of the parent unit, it was an extremely easy and cost efficient upgrade. Yes, it is faster than my last unit (or seems to be at least), but I particularly have liked the durability of Lowrance as well as the ease of use with features particularly in the side/down scan. I can accurately find fish and bait in either side if my boat as stay on the school as it moves throughout the day.

Manual Inadequate, 3D below expections
April 25, 2018
I have watched Lowrance personnel and Lowrance dealer demonstrating the unit, many great features. Purchased the carbon12 " screen unit and after installation tried to reproduce the features, went thru manual hoping it would guide me thru, sadly inadequate. The Lowrance personnel & retailers demonstrate the features many times per day, the majority of recreational anglers get to use the unit infrequently by comparison, and do not want to spend precious recreational time searching thru a maze. A good manual makes the process very easy, not a frustrating procedure. By comparison I also have a Furuno TZTL Touch2 unit on my boat, a much more detailed unit to set up and program by comparison to the Lowrance however the very detailed and complete manual makes the process very easy.
The Lowrance 3D does not meet expectations; somewhat useful up to 100 ft , preferably less than 50 ft. Would not purchase the unit again.

Exceptional Sonar Unit
April 15, 2018
Really hit a home run with this unit. Have long been a fan of the Lowrance Brand. This unit provides exceptional performance, clarity, and speed. Very impressed with the unit and looking forward to thoroughly learning and using the advanced capabilities of this unit. Can't wait to fully experience the latest update containing "Fish Reveal" which was a major driver in deciding to purchase the unit.

The best
April 14, 2018
You can actually see the screen from all angles using polarized sunglasses. Love this feature. Have not had time to explored this unit totaly but the first few uses have shown me a clear sceen, good structure and fish reveal features, easy to navigate through the menus and simply a great unit. Have used lowrance units for the past 15 years and this is a the biggest leap in features in a long time. Will be looking at buying a 12.

No, this would require a 3d structure scan module and transducer. (sold separately Totalscan is 2d traditional down scan and side scan. .
