Welcome to the top of the food chain. At least in fish terms. There are no hairs split here folks, no modifiers, no "the biggest fish but on some insanely light line." We're talking about the kind of fish that are insane in their own right. Tuna, sharks, billfish. This is the world of outriggers and fighting chairs. And it just got a little better; ten new models have been added to the heavy artillery lineup. The G.Loomis Pelagic Series now includes some high performance trolling rods and some awesome new, shorter stand-up rods.

I've used it twice and am very happy with the rod. I like the action and sensitivity.
Cons
  • I would prefer a cork handle as opposed to the foam.

I lover these pelagic rods. Great rod for under $350. I have some that are over 10 years old with thousands of fish boated and they still work like a champ. Also American made

Pelagic Series delivers!
April 12, 2013
This is my second Pelagic series rod from G. Loomis. I really like the hardware used as well as the blank. It is light for its purpose. My favorite butt, Pacific Bay, fits in my fighting belt very easily. Pricey, but most rods on this class are. Plus lifetime guaranty and expeditor service.

Would this rod be a good match with a Shimano tranx for Casting 1-3oz lures
1 Answers
Luke. That rod is not a casting rod. A better match for your Tranx reel and casting 1 -3 oz lures would be the GLoomis Pro-Blue Series (PBR844S) or the Shimano Terez (TZC70M) rods.
