The LIVETARGET Shrimp is designed to outfish the 'real' deal. The body is infused with real Shrimp while the rear swimming legs are strategically designed to create the illusion that the bait is propelling itself forward, perfectly mimicking a live shrimp.

Shrimp are the single most important forage for all saltwater game fish. Most saltwater predators, including Sea Trout, Redfish, and Striped Bass, can't resist the temptation of a Shrimp.

Pictures are not indicative of true color

While the body shape is indeed very lifelike, the color, "brown shrimp", looks nothing like the picture. The color should be called "black coffee shrimp". I doubt these will ever see the water due to the color.

Realistic Looking Shrimp
November 6, 2020
These look very realistic. It is made out of some type of semi soft silicone. There are not soft enough for you to think they will 'fall apart' while casting, but I figure after a couple of fish they could be destroyed in much the same way a high quality worm would. I think they are a bit expensive myself. Overall though very decent.
Also my 'sand color' is actually light black.
Pros
  • very decent, even for the price.
  • would buy the 4inch again if I had cash to burn.
Cons
  • color was NOT indicative of the picture. This is not a mistake as
  • there are no black shrimp colors, but that is pretty much what I got when ordering "sand".
  • there are no red shrimp colors, but that is pretty much what I got when ordering "pink".
  • price.

Super realistic

These lures are super realistic but I don't think that their action is as good as a lot of other shrimp baits on the market. However, they are great to work by themselves in strong current and they are also good under a popping cork.
Pros
  • realistic
Cons
  • action

These baits look so really you want to start boiling water but instead you will fire up the grease for all the fish your going to stringer ! The smaller 3 inch work better on most for me but there are times the larger ones work better so buy them both !

Red killer

Used these in port aransas in the 3 inch size and they were fantastic. Pinfish started tearing into these, but then the slot reds started to show up and the fights were on! As stated in the other review, these don't cast that far, but free lining them with the currents and tides makes these irresistible! Not to mention, these seriously look like shrimp!
Pros
  • Awesome bait
  • Pre rigged and weighted
  • Made of shrimp bits
Cons
  • Pricey

Starting to really love these

Pitched around columns of bridge for snapper. Was using in competion with real shrimp. The LIVETARGET shrimp look amazingly real. Their design allows for excellent action on the lure and awesome live presentation. The real shrimp of course way outfished these but I was amazed at the smell these give off, you can smell it yourself when you pick them up, and the excellent ability to add action while fishing these lures. Huge advantage was while real shrimp I was replacing every couple casts the LIVETARGET keep going and going without losing sent or tearing up. I will continue to use these and I think these are one of the best natural shrimp lures out there!
Pros
  • Scent
  • Look Alive
  • Excellent action
Cons
  • Outfished by real shrimp but Next time I think I will use florocarbon with these and I think this will help with the timid bridge fish.

Great Bait
February 20, 2014
Finally received the new Live Target shrimp and had the opportunity to take out the skiff in some gorgeous Florida weather. I only had the 3” as the 4” are on back order. The shrimp did real well on small trout. We did have 2 line screamers but we couldn’t land them. The big trout had sunk there dog teeth into the shrimp and hung on until the bait was cut in 1/2 right behind the hook. Happens with all plastics. The 3” shrimp don’t cast very far, but we found if you let the current move the bait, the fish will jump on it. Overall this shrimp is a great lure. I can’t wait to get the 4”. Fishing out of Homosassa FL. 2.19.14
Pros
  • Fish eat these shrimp!
Cons
  • Could use some kevlar in the body of the shrimp to toughen them up a bit.
