The Surface Tension Lure is a top water lure which is constructed of a high impact plastic and stuffed with stainless steel thru-wire construction. The overall design of this lure gives the angler extreme distance on every cast even with a strong wind in your face. Single middle gusset design enables this plug to be fished on the surface with a slow retrieve with added rod tip action or fast for a more steady moving bait and added spiting and darting action. The florescent colors make it easy for you and the fish to find in any conditions. The new Surface Tension Lure has proven itself many times as a reliable lure for Striped Bass, Bluefish, and yes Tuna.

The Perfect Surface Tension Lure
August 29, 2015
I've fished the ST3 under a variety of conditions in the surf, from a boat offshore, and in inlets. It casts extremely well, and it is effective in flat and windy conditions. I've used the ST3 in New England, Florida, and Texas and had great results with it. Species that I've caught with the ST3 include small school Bluefin tuna, dorado, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, jack crevalle. big eye jacks, barracuda, striped bass, bonito, skipjack tuna, and wahoo.

In addition to high speed retrieves, this lure can also be worked slowly and very effectively like a pencil popper or spook in smooth water, on the backs of swells or waves, and in troughs. My experience with the ST3 is that it is an extremely effective lure for schools or pods of fish feeding on baitfish at or near the surface. The ST3 is also often productive from the surf in the daytime. Every serious saltwater angler should own this lure and the larger ST4.
