Lew's American Hero Spinning Reels are designed with a lightweight graphite body and rotor. These reels feature a double anodized aluminum spool that is accented with black and blue colors. These reels can be used for right or left hand retrieve.

I bought a 300 size a couple of years ago. within three months it started being hard to reel and catching at one spot; after six months it was unusable.
i have a friend who uses an american hero casting reel and swears by it, but ive been to put off buying one for myself after experiencing the spinning version.

You get what you pay for. I wanted to try a lews spinning reel. I gave this one a shot. It is ok but it is now relegated as a back up. I use them for fineness and I find the spool a little small and short stroke. I get quite a bit of line twist.

Hands down best spinning reel I’ve had. Everything from redfish, trout, flounder, and jacks in south Texas.
