Good options to powder coat or fingernail polish works too. I like kalin products, pretty good value for the price. Not the very best but more than good enough.

the hooks are what sell these jig heads very sharp right out of the box.

I used these in the 1/2 oz size while fishing for flounder and they worked very well for me with a 4" Berkley mullet. the hook is very strong and very sharp. this jig head holds on to the bait very well. I hooked more flounder using this lure than live bait last time out but guess you could tip the jig with a silverside and it would work just as well if not better. I did paint a few of the jig heads and found out, at least in my situation on my last trip out, that a chartreuse jig head seamed to get more strikes.

kalins jig heads are my go to jig head for saltwater now.
