Jigging World Shogun rods were designed with northeast bottom-fishing anglers in mind who target everything from fluke and black seabass to striped bass. Featuring a spiral acid wrapped Fuji Alconite guide layout, the rod will resist from rolling over making for an easier and more enjoyable fight on a big fish. EVA grips provide for a solid grip regardless of the conditions. With three conventional models that can fish from 10-16oz, you will be hard pressed to find a better bottom-fishing rod for the money.
As for the rod, it's an excellent product. Very light, very comfortable. Plenty of backbone for anything you would encounter in its class. While this is advertised as their "fluke" rod, this is more than enough rod for inshore sea bass fishing and will certainly handle all but the biggest tog you will encounter in the mid-Atlantic. I paired this with a Penn Fathom 300LP.
- - Lightweight
- - Great action and backbone
- - Looks great
- - The spiral wrap is a matter of preference. While not a huge fan, I do recognize its benefits.
love the grip also.
I was looking for a solid tog rod, with a faster tip to pair with my Diawa Lexa 400. Which one of these would you recommend?
Thanks :)
What reel would pair nicely with the SGC76-MH? I will be mainly bottom fishing for fluke, sea bass and tog. Preferably in the $200-300 price range.
