If I had 1 rod
October 12, 2020
I paired this with a Shimano Twin Power 5000 sw. I’ve caught plenty if 40 lbs striped bass on a boat with this rod. I‘ve caught blues, tautogs and flukes from the beach/jetty. I bought rods that cost a lot more than the Nexus and nothing compate with performance and durability. Rod is super light too!

I use it mainly in my kayak for stripers/fluke and shore fishing for fluke when I need to bump up the oz a little. Great rod, especially for the price. Can't go wrong with this one.

Amazing jetti rod
May 9, 2020
the rod is very strong and can easily cast 4 oz witch is impressive considering its 6 oz, thin and only a 7 foot rod. Great rod for fluke jigging on the jetty and boat quickly becoming my go to rod.
Pros
  • thin, light and stiff
Cons
  • none

great multi purpose rod
April 9, 2020
Great rod and especially for the price. I paired it with a daiwa bg 4000 for fluking which it was great for. I then took it out for stripers and it was great with them as well. Sensitive but also has the back bone to tackle everything that I targeted with it. Looking forward to using it on some mahi this year. I will purchasing another one to pair with a bg 3500.
Pros
  • sensitive
  • good back bone
  • light
  • comfortable to use all day
Cons
  • last eyelet seems pretty small

Which rod would you bet if i was throwing bigger metal lips from the boat for stripers  7 or 76
1 Answer
Hi Paul, I would recommend the Jigging World Nexus 761S-MH Spinning Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/jigging-world-jw-nx761s-mh-nexus-spinning-rod.html This would be great to cast large metal lip swimmers for striped bass and bluefish. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

What size reel would be a good match on the 7’6” for tog

There are a lot of reels that would work well with this rod for Tog. Here are a few of them; Shimano Stradic 4000FL, Shimano Saragosa 5000, Diawa BG3500, Van Staal VR150 or smaller.
