Jigging World Black Widow Rods were designed with Northeast bottomfish anglers in mind that pursue fluke, black seabass, porgy, cod, striped bass, and bluefish. The conventional Black Widow rods feature spiral wrapped guides that help to eliminate the tendency for the rod to roll over when you are hooked up on a nice fish. These rods possess a great deal of sensitivity along with plenty of backbone to get fish out and away from structure with ease. Don’t hesitate to fish the Black Widow Rods with extreme confidence, as they are covered by a 2 year warranty to the original purchaser.

Would this rod pair well with an SXJ G2 6/4 MC with 30# braid. Mainly as a fluke rod?
1 Answer
Hi Ian, The Jigging World Black Widow Conventional jigging rods are designed for fluke fishing and bottom fishing and will pair well with the Avet SXJ G2 and 30lbs braid. You can certainly go down to 20lbs braid if you want a lighter profile mainline. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!

How would the 150 Black Widow compare to a Nexus H or XH? I have both H and XH Nexus and prefer the XH for fluking, just looking to "level up" my rod.
1 Answer
Hi Ryan, According to TackleWorld, The Jigging World Black Widow 150C Conventional Rod has a very similar action and taper compared to the Jigging world Nexus series. However some of the differences are that 1) the Blank is built upon a slow pitch style carbon blank that has a moderate - fast action that bends evenly throughout the entire blank under pressure. and 2) The Black Widow model: BW-150C-SPLIT GRIP is slightly heavier than the Nexus rods weighing 8.7oz. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

I wanted to know will this rod be suitable for lager fish such as Mahi Mahi and Yellowtail
1 Answer
Hi Bazzal, I would recommend a Jigging World Night Ranger Rod. Specifically model: JW-NR701C-H; TD Code: JWD-0030. https://www.tackledirect.com/jigging-world-jw-nr701c-h-night-ranger-casting-rod.html This rod is a heavy action rod and has a really strong backbone needed to fight large fish such as stripers, tog, mahi mahi, and yellowtail. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
