Thin But strong

Extremely surprised at the thin diameter. Hopefully it holds up long term but for the season so far I am very impressed.

My go to line

Love the JB braid. I have used it for a few years now. Small diameter, high strength. I fish halibut off the Oregon coast and have tried a few other lines, but JB is the winner for me.

Best line ever

Stronger softer more pliable fishing line can land fish twice its weight strength and because of the white color very visible to the angler give it a monofilament Top Shot and the fish don't have a clue

Great line but hollow core is better
October 26, 2016
I bought a spool of non hollow for surf casting for Tautog on my new Vanstaal VR 175 and 2016 St. Croix Legend surf and it held up really good. It's pretty smooth and less invasive then other lines I've used before. The casting wasn't too bad compared to powerpro slick. The strength was definitely stronger than powerpro. I also spooled up JB#65 hollow core on Vanstaal VR150 on a St. Croix Legend Salt for Tautog on a boat and I really love the hollow core. It all depends what you're using the line for, surf casting I'd go non-hollow, on a boat I'd recommend hollow core. I'd go Jerry Brown all the way for any line.

I use jerry brown for all of my big game/offshore braid. I used this braid on a Diawa Saltist 35H conventional and a Diawa Saltist 4500 spinning reel. Did great on a recent trip for blackfin and yellowfin tuna of the Texas coast. Great jigging line, it is smooth and has great knot strength. Handles bimini twists like a dream. Recomend this line to anyone.
Pros
  • smooth
  • great knot strength
  • accurate diameter

Caught alot of trees
October 31, 2014
Used this line to drift for catfish on the diversion canal between Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion. We only caught a blue gill and some other fish that was smaller than the blue gill. But what I'm pressed my dad and I both is that every time we snagged, we would pull up large branches or small trees, and 9 times out of 10 there was someones line or lure. We had two other poles with Power Pro 20lb and we both went through 5 or 6 hooks from lines snapping.

Line felt thinner than the 30lb and 20lb Power Pro we had on other poles. Knots tied well. Minimal dye on my fingers after stringing the reel.

Great line!

This stuff is smooth as silk and thinner than other 80lb class braids. It almost has a wax feel to it its so smooth. Only down side is that you usually have to wait for the line to become available from backorder and its not widely available in local stores such as BassPro or Dicks, but this is probably the reason why its such high quality line. Its not just manufactured in massive amounts that can affect the QC management.
Pros
  • smooth, thin, strength
Cons
  • not widely available in local shops, wait time if out of stock.

I recently lined up my Shimano TLD30IIA. The line is very strong and ties knots well. I had no issues with the line, top notch line that will be used extensively. The line seems to be very smooth as well.
