Works, but not very sturdy

This came on my new boat that I just bought. The connection does not leave me with much confidence in it's durability. The black piece kind of floats around in the plastic mounting plate and I fear a good tug on the hose in the wrong direction will snap something. It's also very difficult to thread on the hose for some reason. It could just be the plastic to metal connection that is a bit rough, but it's awful pricey for the way it feels to me.
