Solid stainless steel
January 8, 2022
I bought these gimbals for connecting high-speed trolling plugs (Yo zuri Bonita) to wire or cable in order to eliminate friction burn through.
They're exactly what I wanted. SOLID stainless steel and they fit perfectly inside the lure eye. Recommended.
Pros
  • These things are not cheap or flimsy in anyway. They are SOLID. I'm sure they're going to hold up to the constant friction of high speed trolling.
Cons
  • None.

Smooth honed surfaces

The brand I had been using required some filing to smooth out sharp edges. These thimbles are nicely honed - no burrs or sharp edges to possibly compromise the line. Really like these.
Pros
  • Smooth honed edges
Cons
  • None

This is a well made product. But it didn't work for the application that I intended. The fitting was too bulky for what I was using it for.

I use these thimbles for rigging knife jigs. When used with chaffing sleeves it provides great movement for swivels and solid rings, as well as protection for your leaders
Pros
  • Great corrosion resistance. Protects leaders material from excessive wear

Sea Striker Thimble Review

The strength and quality of the stainless steel are an excellent value. I've put these thimbles to the test with heavy fish and leadering and never had an issue.
