trying to decide between Hardy Fortuna z 6/7/8 0r 8/9/10 -- I will probably be buying an 8 weight fly rod -  What does "WF" stand more in the capacity line?  What is the capacity of the 8/9/10 reel if I load it with 8 weight line?  Will  you put the backing and flyline on the reel and advise what is the  best line?

Thank you

Hi Cristi. Kind of depends on what you are fishing for. Smaller sized reel for trout, bass, etc. if you don't need a ton of backing and are throwing smaller flies and streamers. I'd go with the larger reel for Pike, small salmon, steelhead, bonefish etc. In these cases you will want more backing and possibly even over line the rod (9WT line on a 8WT rod). "WF" means "weight forward line and refers to the taper of the fly line. The capacity of the 8/9/10 with 8WT line should be around 200-250 yards of backing (depending on chosen weight, 20#- 30#).We can spool the reel for you. You would need to choose and purchase both the fly line and the backing. Which line is best would be determined by what you are fishing for, when, where, and how.
