The G-Loomis NRX Inshore spinning rods are a series of fast and extra fast, magnum power spinning rods that feature the new nano-silica resin system. These fishing rods are lightweight, yet insanely sensitive and stronger than any high performance, high modulus rod ever made by G-Loomis. These rods also feature the hybrid guide train with titanium framed, SIC K-frame stripper guides designed to keep braided line from tangling on the frames at the stiffest point of the rod. After the first 3 K-frame guides, next comes the nickle titanium recoile guides to reduce weight and increase the rate of recovery for the tip creating unequaled casting distance. These rods all feature split grip handle configurations and are backed with a limited time warranty.

Like no other rod ever fished

Bought the 843 med heavy fast action 7’ I don’t like long fishing rods … pared with Stella 4K sw edition got in Australia cause didn’t sell usa @ time I basically own 15/20 loomis but huge cape fear fan own easily 50+ and always thought loomis decent rods just bit fragile and delicate … but HOLY CRAP this nrx blew my mind seriously!! It’s ridiculous the backbone in it !!! Feels like could rip 30 lb grounder OUT ITS HOLE haha its absolutely incredible.. I did have too eye break thou but probably mostly my fault (not while fishing just traveling in launcher maybe line too tight) I use mine for offshore only … I know inshore rod but it’s truly epic for dolphin , tuna and bottom fishing small jigs … absolutely stupid $$ but soon own and fish one it becomes immediately Sparta why unlike many overpriced things lol … plus cannot beat titanium eyes ..
Pros
  • Backbone for days it just has. This insane hidden power u don?t expect till fish big with it ? 30/40 lb amber jack with Stella 4K sw 20lb pp it?s an assassin of the seas truely ?
  • Titanium eyes are just so dam rust/weather proof fantastic!!!
Cons
  • 1)Well guess have be honest lol titanium eyes are mostly fantastic but broke tip eye , not rod itself but tip eye? maybe my fault .. wasn?t fishing just traveling ? arrived spot looked back rocket launchers saw broken rod so sad lol ? maybe too tight line in wrong direction.. had 1 oz jig maybe came loose and bouncing around ? idk was surprised shame thou but guess Fiji not loomis problem ?.
  • BUT the hook/lure catch by base rod ISNT titanium and will rust sadly ? that is small cheap out point ?
  • 2) bottom rod makes hard put securely in rocket launcher on boat ? I have use microfiber towel to thicken up and protect rod base shaft ? (not end world .. worth sacrifice cause rod super comfortable to fish ..
  • 3) haven?t had any issues honestly but reel seat/clamp doesn?t give u feel of super strength haha but I do fish VERY HARD .. and use offshore and however..it still hasn?t broken or come loose ?.

I paired the NRX 921S MR with a Stella 5000. I was not too sure how much backbone the rod would have since the tip was softer than what I have been accustomed to. We were catching some nice reds near Clearwater. After releasing a 35 in red a bull shark bit it in two! Following that, twice I hooked into what I believe were sharks due to the head shaking I could feel and my line ended up cut. One of them stripped out half of my line before I managed to turn it. After about 10 minutes of fighting it, we never saw it, the braid was cut. The rod was super lightweight, sensitive and loaded up beautifully with the bigger fish. Yes, they are expensive but after how it performed I would definitely purchase one again.

Have mine paired with a Daiwa exist for inshore fishing. Amazing set up. This rod is so sensitive I can feel a baby shark fart in Australia while fishing the docks in Socal. . Will be buying aa second one.

G-Loomis NRX inshore spinning rod
September 29, 2015
Now have 6 NRX spinning rods (both inshore and bass). These rods are light well balanced and strong no matter where I fish. Most recently fished in a variety of inshore fishing conditions around Captiva, Florida where I caught Reds, Snook, Trout, etc. Still would like to hook a tarpon. These are my go too rod in most conditions.
Pros
  • Light, well balanced and strong.

Very good spinning rod
May 19, 2015
this is the lightest, strongest spinning rod i have ever used. I received it as a gift and I have used it from the beach and it has handled 5kg blue fish with no problems.
I would recommend this rod over just about everything else.

I have the 7'8" Med...wow, what a great trout rod
December 16, 2014
We all know G Loomis costs a lot. My mentality is to buy once, replace never. This is why I buy the best of the best whenever I can...
Pros
  • What Inshore rod can compete with this? I'll save you the trouble, none...
