Even though we have a huge following for our Crankbait rod, there are still a lot of anglers out there that have asked for an even softer version. For those anglers, we developed our new Deep Flex (DF) crankbait rods. They are a totally new (2010) design that creates a much slower taper and softer flex. They are incredibly light and provide unbelievable sensitivity and lure control. The softer flex improves the lure's action, allowing it to work its way over or around the cover the way it was designed to which is far more attractive to the fish. When a bass eats a bait or, in this case, a crankbait they actually suck the lure in by flushing a large amount of water through their gills, bringing the lure along with it. Rods that are too stiff can actually pull the bait away from the bass and not allow the natural "flow" to occur, resulting in short strikes, poor hook-ups and missed fish. Another nice advantage is that the softer action is very forgiving when the fish runs or jumps so you are less apt to lose them. Now it's time to get excited. Crankbait anglers have never had it so good!

This is a nice rod for fishing small to medium-sized lipless crankbaits, deep-divers and shallow runners. It's perfect for fishing crankbaits in open water. Its soft flex and slow taper really gives the lure a lot more action. This rod is extremely accurate for close-quarter work. If you are one of those anglers that think fiberglass is the answer, then you need to try this rod. It has all the "advantages" glass gives you at half the weight, and talk about sensitive... it adds another whole dimension to fishing crankbaits!

It has the right combination of length and power for fishing 1/2 ounce lipless crankbaits and medium to large-sized deep divers. It is extremely forgiving which not only enhances the action fo the lure, but keeps you from pulling hooks free when a bass jumps or makes a quick burst for cover. Light, sensitive and extemely efficient, this is the rod you've been looking for.

This is a great choice for fishing the big deep-diving crankbaits. At 7'5", you can cast the bait a country mile and that allows you to keep it down, in the zone for longer periods of time. Its soft flex allows the bait to work so much better, attracting more strikes, and it is so sensitive that there is no doubt when a big bass sucks the bait in. This rod has plenty of reserve power and keeps you in total control even when that "fish of a lifetime" heads for the thick stuff. It makes a great "rippin" rod when fishing the grass.
