Polaris Popper

Guide To Fishing Gibbs Lures
One of the all-time favorites in the Gibbs line and finished in a more traditional "Popper" fashion than the Pencil Popper. The key here is to vary the speed, even letting the plug come to rest on occasion. Impart only enough rod tip action to splash the water and create the audible "gurgle". The most common error in fishing Poppers is to overdo the rod action. Only a twitch is needed, as the sound will travel far under water.

Used a few times last fall during a false albie blitz from the beach, manage to catch a few. Easy to use in all water conditions, but best suited for moderate surf conditions.

I never leave home without Gibbs Polaris Popper. It brings through the wind and is able to reach fish that a far away because of its excellent cast ability. You must have it. Just be aware the current ones being made by Gibbs and sold by TackleDirect is without the bucktail. They come with bare hooks.

This is an excellent lure with extreme cast-ability and action that mimics busting bait fish like no other.
Gibbs Polaris is my go to when there are blitzing fish or signs of bunker pods. It will reach places other lures just can't cast to.
It is a bit heavy for long casting sessions. I usually keep in the bag until I am sure there's bait. 10 casts of this and you start to feel it.
