Designed to provide competitive anglers with a fully comprehensive offering of high performance, technique-specific rods, the G Loomis IMX-PRO Bass Casting Rods take the renowned IMX series of rods to new heights. The IMX-PRO features blanks that are designed with a proprietary multi-taper-technology, making them up to 15% lighter and are stronger than ever. A new blend of hi-tech materials allows each blank to react quickly, load efficiently, and provide more sensitivity than any other IMX rod to date. Strategic scrim placements allow for the creation of very specific tapers to enhance the action for each technique. Handles are crafted from premium quality cork for maximum comfort with subtly tapered rear grips to give you that split-grip feel with full grip comfort. Guides are tangle-free Fuji K-frames. Amazing

Loved the action on this rod! I got the 966 model for the Deps 250 and found that it was just a bit underpowered for baits in the 6 ounce range. However, baits in the 2-5 ounce range were perfect. Even though the rod has more of a parabolic bend, I am able to slam those jig hooks in on my soft baits. I would highly, highly, highly recommend spending the 400 bucks. It’s worth it.

The 852c JWR is a perfect light casting rod. Great for 1/4oz jigs, top water lures, and my favorite use is probably casting weightless stick worms. It will handle both 5" and 6" stick baits great. The taper allows for beautiful hook sets. It has a nice tip, and gets to the backbone pretty quick. However it flexes well when fighting fish. A really fun rod to fish with. I own two of this model, and one of the 853c JWR.
Pros
  • great taper
  • nice balance
  • very sensitive
  • accurate caster
  • very comfortable handle
Cons
  • none
