Rod action surprised me.
June 28, 2021
Bought the 7' medium, mag mod. When I first pulled it out of the shipping tube, my initial thought was it was kind of whippy and soft. Put a 3000 Stradic FL with 15lb braid and leader and threw some lures. from light soft plastics to heavier plugs, it almost seemed it lost its whippy feeling. Working jerk baits the tip didn't feel as mushy like I thought it would and the plug action was spot on. Looking forward to using it on my upcoming FL trip.
Pros
  • Light weight, Good action and fit and finish as expected from G loomis
Cons
  • None as of yet, Will update after trip

The wife’s favorite rod
June 28, 2021
Two years ago, my wife was given a E6x. We never had a rod in that price range. Her casting ability and catching improved drastically. She liked the rod so much, I bought her another. The rod has increased my wife’s confidence 100%.
Pros
  • Extremely light weight. Extremely sensitive.
Cons
  • Not cheap, but worth it.

Steelhead delight
November 6, 2020
I have only used this rod a couple of times with a new Stradic reel and this combination is a delight to use. Some juvenile Steelhead and a couple larger ones were caught with this combination. I have not had such a pleasant experience with older rods of lesser quality. The action is superb and I never felt that the fish could overpower the rod. This is currently the best rod and reel combination I have used and currently own for fishing Steelhead trout. I will try it on salmon when the opportunity presents itself.
Pros
  • Great action and sensitivity. Never felt rod was overpowered by the fish.
