The Fin-Nor Marquesa Pelagic Trolling Reels are for anglers pursuing sailfish and marlin on lighter stand up tackle. The custom drag cam on these reels is designed to provide a more linear drag range from 0-15lbs, allowing fine adjustments in the lower drag range. The top crossbar on these reels helps manage spool overrun for kite fishing and live baiting techniques, and the high speed retrieve makes this the ultimate reel for billfish enthusiasts. The 2-stage cam system in these reels gives more control in settings below the "Strike" position and a steeper control curve when more than strike is needed.

Features:
  • Precision machined aluminum one piece frame
  • 6 ball bearings
  • Ultra-smooth carbon-fiber drag system
  • High-speed retrieve
  • Unparalleled free-spool
  • Oversized ergonomic crank knob
  • 2-stage cam profile for more aggressive control past "Strike"

Super reliable reel
April 28, 2020
I own 4 MA40TP Marquesa Pelagic reels, which I use exclusively for light tackle Billfishing. I caught dozens of sailfish on them and haven't had any problems with them. I give them a 10/10. Excelent value for money. I would reccomend them anytime.
Pros
  • Excellent drag system.
  • Very good for circle hook fishing.
Cons
  • No agents in South Africa. Hope I don't need parts anytime soon....

Disappointed

The reel looks good, but the quality is not there. The handle is fragile. The worst thing about the reel is the extremely "jerky" drag.easily
Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Poor quality
  • Drag is not smooth

I gave this reel to my son and he welcomed it with enthusiasm even though it is a repeat gift while attempting to upgrade his arsenal of trolling gear.
Pros
  • well engineered, dependable action.

Why do these reels look identical to the talicas?
1 Answer
Might be a good question for the manufacture. I can see some of similarities but these reels are totally different.
