I purchased this reel as part of a combo from Tackle direct for a buddy at work who was just getting into fishing. Reel has some cool features that are usally only on higher priced reels.
Drag is good, bait runner feature is handy especially the adjustable tension on that feature.
The thing that put this over the top for me was the customer service from the manufacture, lost the habdle on a recent trip and they sent a new one to me no questions asked had it in 3 days, I was very surprised. So good product and awesome customer support!

- Smooth winding and drag, cool looking, good features(adjustable bait runner/ free spool), sturdy built.
Cons
- none so far, maybe a little heavy but that's what makes it more sturdy/durable.

I found the reels online 15 dollars cheaper per reel while waiting for shipping, I called and was told that they were a different model even though it was the same numbers. The reels are nice just can't believe the sales people at tackle direct.

by far the best bait runner drag system over Daiwa 4000BRI or the SHIMANO 4500b. 5 or 6 inch bait can take the line out , had to ''FEED the line for the other 2. I need the spinning reel to get the smaller baits away from the boat...need more fish time to practice LOL. Had all 3 out chasing yellow tail off NEW PORT BEACH CALIF. FIN-NORs' the best!!

From the moment that I unpacked this reel from the shipping box I knew that I had a gem. The drag system is smooth, the line capacity is good (275 yards of braid), the amount of line retrieved per turn of the reel handle is awesome. Definitely a quality product at a modest price.
Pros
- Value for the money. Line capacity is good. Easy to use bait runner system.
Cons
- Only 4 bb. Maybe it could be a bit smoother with more bb.

Just got this beautiful reel in today. This will be going on my tsunami airwave. Big blues and stripers are in Cape may NJ so that's where I'm going. Being a fin nor I have no doubts about this reel.
Pros
- Lighter weight for a bait teaser, solid design, nice thick bail wire, great looking.
Cons
- No rubber braided line grip on spool. Not a big deals but would be a nice feature.

strong build. very light for 80 size reel. threw it on a blair wiggins flats game rod to chase some tarpon this year in FL. will update once some fish, miles, abuse have been put on it.

What gear material composes the gearbox of this reel? Also, how does the 80 size compare to, say, a 55 Fin nor Offshore?

The bait teasers shaft is stainless steel while the drive gear is chromate, weight wise they are similar to the offshore series.

The spool is braid ready but I would still put a small amount of backing or tape so the braid has something to bite down on and doesn't spin on your spool.
