Gizmo Topwater BaitFloating1-1/2in3/64oz#2Frog$10.99 USD
A unique type of topwater bait that many have never fished before, the Evergreen Gizmo effectively imitates the floating insects that bass absolutely love to dine on. Made from a durable and highly buoyant elastomer material, the Gizmo sits on the water's surface like a vulnerable dragonfly, cicada, or other large insect. With quick twitches of the rod tip, the ultra-fine silicone rubber appendages come to life and send ripples throughout the water much like an insect sputtering on the surface. These lightweight floating baits cast surprisingly well thanks to their rear-weighted abdomen that shifts the center of gravity towards the back of the bait. This rear weighted design also helps stabilize the floating posture of the bait for the perfect presentation on every cast. The Gizmo is perfect for use in open water, around structure, and even around vegetation and in lily pad openings thanks to a translucent weed guard that helps keep the #2 decoy hook free of tangles and snags.

great lure and fish love this color

First 3 casts had blow ups. Fish love this color. Using ultralight tackle on small creeks in Mid TN, this thing has been a bass fishing machine this summer. If the action is slow on prop baits I'll turn to this for a more subtle topwater action. Most hits happen as soon as it hits the water, but if not, on a slow retrieve I simply wiggle my rod and this bug flutters along the surface and more times than not triggers a hit.

fantastic creek fishin topwater

Love this lil' bug. Fishing creeks in middle TN and throwing this on an ultralight setup if there's a bass nearby it gets hit. I've fished it consistently for 4 weeks and its stood up to some abuse. Even had the body pull off the weighted hook when fish are hooked deep and I've had to dig it out with pliers with no ill effects. Just push the hook back in and keep fishing.
Pros
  • durable
  • effective
  • great action
Cons
  • only con so far is sometimes it lands upside down and won't always turn upright on the retrieve forcing a recast. but thats being awful picky. its a great lure.
