what is the size (HP) of the motor on this unit?
1 Answer
The electric reels are always measured in volts for example the Tuna Brute is available in a 12v DC and with a 24V DC drawing more voltage creating more torque and pulling power. It is a 130lb class boom.

Hi, I am putting a green stick on my 38 henriques and I was wondering if this was the best reel to use for charter/ recreational fishing, I was also wondering if you know how the green stick works, my main concern is when a fish hits it and the stick releases, the release clip attached to the stick will hit the boat or someone on the boat. I am looking to fish it off of individual rods and using this reel as a main line reel, but I also want to be able to fish it just off of the tuna brute? I also wanted to know if you guys had one in stock, that I could either pick up or ship it to DE? Thank You Nolan

The Brute is a great mainline reel for green sticking. Because it uses an electric motor instead of hydraulic it is virtually a plug and play option. In terms of rigging this is something that was done the same way for a long time but now with the birth of smaller non-commercial boats getting into a green stick style of bait presentation it have been manipulated many different ways. If you are going to go through the time and expense of a green stick and a reel like the Brute my personal recommendation would be to rig it in a traditional fashion. When done like this rigging floss is used as a release. We do not have this reel in stock but it is something we can bring into our shop if you would like to pick it up. You may also have it shipped to your door if you would like. This would be done with free shipping and no sales tax.
