Good for the long haul

I have one of these and it has lasted maybe 40 years. I have never even had it serviced but only now the cord is due. The noise drives others nuts I am sure and particularly when the water is deep or the current requires about two pounds of weights. Everyone else gets wore out and quits and I am sitting down just getting thumb exercise. It will pull up the big ones. No setting hooks as it does it all.
Pros
  • Long lasting and at the end of reading up fish all day I am still fresh.
Cons
  • Transporting it particular because of the cord.

Hi Brett, According to Elec-Tra-Mate, The Elec-Tra-Mate 412-HS Electric Reel Drive is only compatible for the 113H1 and 113H2 models and will not work with the Penn 113L2 Senator L2 Reels. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Hi Sergey, According to Penn, The sideplates of the Penn 113H2 and the US 113 are different sizes. Due to this the Elec-Tra-Mate model: 412-HS will not be compatible with the Penn US 113 reel and will not work. There is no Elec-Tra-Mate model currenty that is compatible with the Penn US 113 reel unfortunately. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

I want to test one I have it has a 3 prong locking plug on the cord can I just attach two batteries leads to the non grounded prongs to test the motor or is there a transformer unit to convert 115 volts?

These are 12V and you will want to match it up to the female plug. If you dont plan on using it with the plug, you could cut it off and connect directly to a 12v deep cycle battery.
