The Egret Baits Vudu Shrimp lure has a 4/0 4X strong hook that ensures solid hooksets. This lure is best fished from a popping cork when targeting slot redfish and speckled trout. The Vudu is constructed with a Kevlar weave through the body and tail to enhance the lures overall durability, which is also segmented for a realistic action.

Great Bait - Almost as good as the real thing.

These are great shrimp imitations and catch fish almost as well as the real thing. They are tough, but like any plastic eventually wear out. They last a heck of a lot longer than live shrimp, though.

The lure is very realistic and has great action. However any fish that’s has sharp teeth will rip off the tail easily.

Fish absolutely love them

I've been using this 3.25" version of the Vudu Shrimp for a while now, and I'm definitely satisfied. The segmented tail along with the extra appendages provide great action, and the small profile of the lure lets it cast well and sink fast.

The sole problem I've come into with this is during hooksets-- sometimes (a small fraction of the time, but more than other shrimp lures) I'll give a perfect, firm hookset for the lure to pop right out of the fish's mouth, and I feel like it has to do with the shape and location of the weight at the front of the lure; it almost acts like a wedge that could potentially blow open a fish's mouth if yanked with enough force.

However, I definitely still prefer this shrimp over other brands because of the sheer amount of fish it attracts, and its durability (the mesh weaved into the plastic keeps fish from tearing it into a million pieces).
Pros
  • Casts well, sinks fast, has great action, durable
Cons
  • Occasionally misses hooksets

This is my favorite shrimp by far, I've caught everything inshore on it. Trout, snook, reds, flounder.

In a head-to-head-to-head matchup, it clearly beat DOA and the Flick Prawn when dock fishing.

best artificial shrimp bait

I've found the rootbeer color is great for clear inshore waters. these things catch trout, reds, snook, tarpon and even consistently catch mangrove snapper on them. truly the best shrimp artificial.

A Real fish catcher

These Egret Vudu shrimp really catch the fish. I’m not sure what it is about these lures but they draw a lot of bites. These are hands down the best artificial shrimp I’ve ever fished. I purchased several different colors and have caught fish on all of them. The Flounder love them and I do almost as well catching Reds. The Vudu shrimp have been very durable as well. All in all I would say that this is a bait everyone should have available for use.
Pros
  • Generates a lot of bites
  • Durable
  • Lifelike action
Cons
  • They?re not free!

Amazingly Lifelike Action

Perfectly weighted to provide a slow fall and drift with the slightest current. Worked under a popping cork provided the best results and the cork adds distance to the cast to cover more water

Best shrimp lure but expensive
May 27, 2020
It is a very good lure probably my favorite lure that I own but the tails are very thin and break easy after about 7 fish. I would recommend the natural color.
Pros
  • Looks good and catches lots of fish.
Cons
  • Expensive and does not last long.

This is a great shrimp imitation. A little pricey but the action is worth it.
