Serves the purpose!

Functions really well. A little challenging to install - took awhile to get the bolts removed in order to install. Once we figured it out, smooth sailing after that!

There are a lot of cheaper boat steering knobs on the market, and this is without a doubt the most expensive. In fact you can buy a competitors steering knob, that comes with a stainless steel steering wheel! So why would I buy what seems like such an overpriced item. For one, I've owned them on many different boats for decades; they have never failed. For 'twice', I already had one on the second steering station on my boat, and they would of course, have to match. And 'thrice', They work well, smooth and quiet, although they do make a vibrating noise when the engine is at idle.

- High quality, good looking (just like my wife)
Cons
- Expensive, over priced, but I guess they would rather sell a smaller number of units, at a higher margin, than more units at less?

This Edson knob is fantastic. The ease of steering my twin engine center console is greatly enhanced in docking situations. Wish I purchased one sooner. Very easy to install as a do- it- yourself project.
