I like this hook and have caught every big catfish I’ve ever reeled in with it. My only issue with this hook is that it could have a little finer point; however, I just put a fine point on it myself with my hook file and sharpen it before each outing.

I usually file the barb off to do less damage to no non target species when i'm fishing, you do not need them if you know what your doing.

It's not Owner sharp, but it's not priced like an Owner either. The tips come sharp, but I'd like to see a thinner tip for easier hook setting. Strong material; doesn't bend. I prefer offset hooks; I lost a fish or two from what I believe was a less than perfect hookset with these hooks. But, still a good hook.

Love these things big enough for most sharks and bigger fish.
Pros
- Perfect size for doing haywire twists not to big or to small,
- Never gut hooked
- Easy release and high rate of retrived hooks.
Cons
- None that's can think of.

The Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp L2004GH Circle Sea Mid Wire Non-Offset Hooks are a Lighter Medium wire gauge hook than the Eagle Claw 2004 U circle hook. I would also recommend the Mustad 39942NP-BN Demon Perfect Circle Offset 3X Strong Hooks. https://www.tackledirect.com/mustad-39942np-bn-demon-perfect-circle-offset-3x-strong-hooks.html This is also a 10/0 25 pack and would be great for various offshore fishing applications.
