Needed a winch with a shorter handle and the 7" handle on this model is perfect. Using with a 20' DL strap on a boat trailer for a 13' Boston Whaler. It makes winching the boat on the trailer a breeze. The ratchet mechanism is sturdy and very positive action for ratchet/free spool. The handle does turn when paying out the strap, but being a shorter handle, it isn't nearly as bad as the longer handles spinning around whacking your leg. Galvanizing looks great and I just give it a good rinse when I get done winching the boat on to wash away salt. Expect this to last a long time.

- Was a little wider than my 600# winch I replaced so I had to modify the mounting post a bit but in the end it turned out to be a positive because it made it much easier to reach the handle on my trailer.
