Designed to provide uncompromising quality without breaking the bank, the Duckett Fishing Silverado Casting Rods have the performance and reliability capable of taking your bass fishing game to the next level. Built around Ducket Fishing's signature Sensi-touch blank made from the highest quality multi-modulus materials, the Silverado has an additional external carbon wrap for enhanced strength and durability. These Sensi-touch blanks are lightweight and sensitive, and have a definite separation of tip and backbone for enhanced performance, castability, and control. The blanks are fitted with guides featuring 316 stainless steel frames with groove resistant industrial grade hard chrome inserts. A new overall guide design and epoxy dramatically reduces any potential guide failures such as feet coming loose or inserts popping out. To enhance sensitivity, the Silverado features a True Split reel seat that leaves a generous portion of the blank exposed under the reel, increasing transmission of vibrations from the rod directly to the hand.

The rod has a good feel, and weight. But unfortunately on my second trip out with this rod I snapped in half while setting the hook on a 10" fish. I have been happy with my other duckett rods but this one missed the mark.

Nice Rod, little tip heavy

Purchased the 7'6" X-Heavy X-Fast to use for frogging and punching. Overall not a bad rod for the price, but the balance it's quite right as it's just a tad tip heavy. But that's to be expected for $100. Otherwise good guides, nice aesthetics and plenty of power.
Pros
  • - Powerful
  • - Good Guides
  • - Price Point
Cons
  • - Tip heavy

So far so good

This is a great rod for the price and of course for the Duckett name. I use this heavy action rod for flipping and punching heavy cover and it has performed perfectly thus far, but the true test will come during the hot Louisiana summer.
Pros
  • Great price
  • Light weight
  • Very fast tip
  • Comfortable handle
Cons
  • None yet
